So, I went to Heatherette last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that LA Fashion Week isn’t as glamorous as New York or Paris, but the difference is that they actually let me into the LA one. The show was fun, but none too unpredictable. There were the usual “club kid for the masses” (that’s a quote from Manuel Paul, who disdains the designing duo) looks– tons of tulle, hot pink, bleach-splatters, big shoes, sequins, etc. There were spray painted overalls too, which gives proof to Threadtrend’s collective theory that the whole Bel Biv Devoe thing is about to go off.
Points of interest:
Jenna Jameson walked the runway, but I didn’t even recognize her. I just thought she was a short model with leathery skin and an orange glow. Honestly.
I saw hipster model-of-the-moment Corey Kennedy, who looked really bored and gave each model some serious you-make-me-barf glances.
Lydia Hearst was in the show, and she’s way prettier in person.
The mom from the Gastineau Girls was there, pretending to be a celebrity. She was sitting next to Kim Kardashian who was doing the same thing. The sex tape star and former sidekick to Paris Hilton (she was kind of slumming it with Gastineau, no?) also texted during the show and yawned incessantly.
More LA Fashion Week to Come. Grey Ant is tonight. I’ll post about it tomorrow.
