My next shoe purchase will be these tall shaft Delman Diadora boots with attached spats. There’s something about spats that makes me smile. I think I just like saying the word spat as often as I can. No really, these are made of buttery suede and the color is perfect! It’s time we all invest in a pair of spats. I scored a great pair on e-bay for $6 that I buckle up over heels, booties, and sandals. You can, too, with these specialized picks currently on auction:
Make your own with this vintage pattern!

I love the color of this vintage 1945 pair!

I recently thrift scored an Hermes Black rectangular scarf most-likely from the 80’s or early 90’s and I’m 99% the puppy was real.
I use the word ‘was’ because I recently sold it, and for what now seems like pennies in light of Vogue Magazine’s January 2008 report on the Marquis De Lafayette scarf designed by Kermit Oliver and displayed at the New York Historical Society’s “French Founding Fathers.” This prompted me to do a little research on the larger-than-life Hermes scarf world.
Hermes began scarf production and a cult following in the 1930s by commissioning artists from around the world to create beautiful prints on the highest quality silk, using up to 30 different screens! Sites like House of Scarves provide an extensive list of some of the scarves produced throughout the last 50 years.
I also learned that second-hand Hermes scarves can sell anywhere between 250($369)-1000($147
euros!! While I did not find my scarf on House of Scarves, I’m sure it’ll pop up somewhere like on e-bay with 57 bids currently at $624 or something ridiculous like that!
So what did I learn from all of this?… Do your research. The next time you come across a designer gem, take a little google time and you might discover you’re sitting on your next rent check!!

If I hadn’t put the answer in the title I would have asked you to guess who took this picture. And you would have been stumped! Because who would think Bryan “Cuts Like a Knife” Adams would be responsible? But he is.
I think Adam’s 1980s magic really helped considering how reminiscent of the glory days of Guess ads this is. I don’t see myself ever craving that back pocket triangle as I did when I was in 5th grade, but I like this picture. Nice work, Brian.
If this ad makes you think of sweet Sophia Loren, it’s no accident. The vibe is designed to be Italian rustic village, and the Italian actress’ hair hair guy was called in to do the honors.

Jeez, here comes my 80s/90s obsession to roost. I just read on DenimHunt that Levis and Jordan are teaming up to create a limited edition collection called 23/501, which will drop this March.
The line is only for guys and includes jeans, Air Jordan Retro 1 sneakers and a t-shirt. And, get this, it will only be sold as a set.
How much is that going to cost? It better be good!
Word is that the jeans will take the shape of a classic 501 and have a sneaker protector at the cuff to keep the indigo wash from wreaking havoc. The shoe will mix denim and the signature Jordan elephant print, which will also line the jeans.

Will it be a slam dunk? Okay, lame pun, but for some reason I’m excited.
