Maybe you knew that Pharrell was posing for Louis Vuitton, but did you know he was doing jewelry for every Orange County housewife’s favorite high-priced label? Well, he did, and he showed his Blason collection yesterday in the midst of the Paris couture shows. Williams co-created the line of gold and diamond pieces with Camille Miceli, the fashion house’s official jewelry designer.
Take a look:

I don’t know what to say. I’d really have to see this stuff on to judge it definitively, but I’m surprisingly underwhelmed by this Pharrell Williams line. And I really respect him and his aesthetic sensibilities. I like the ring, in an over-the-top, Growing up Gotti sort of way, but I just don’t see the point of that first corsage looking one.
About the angel, I get it. I get Pharrell’s point, but I fear the comeback of the angel, the most insanely over-exposed religion-goes-mainstream symbol of the 1990s. I’m just going to say no to baby angels. Even in irony.
