As much as I liked Ricky as a person–I’m partial cute little Mexican boys with hearts of gold–it was definitely his time to go.  Sure, he went to my college in the LBC and started making clothes at 9, but Sweet P deserved to stay despite that awful silver thing that looked like it came out of the lingerie section at Forever 21.

At least he can say he went home on a wrestling outfit challenge.  That’s BS anyway, isn’t it?

Next, I want Rami banished from Project Runway. I think he might be a chauvanist.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 RTW: Behnaz Sarafpour. Good collection. Miraculous makeover!

I’ve watched designer Behnaz Sarafpour since her first NY Fashion week show, Fall 2001. Since day one I’ve always had the same question. She’s a good designer but does she always have to look like crap? I mean I get the whole notion that so many “behind the scenes” professionals have, the idea that Fashion is their profession and they’re too beyond it to care about what they put on. I get this a lot from photographers I work with and I hate it! Let’s face it, you just lack personal style. See what I mean?

What a relief to see Behnaz looking so cute yet understated at her Fall 2008 RTW show. It’s like someone finally showed her how it’s done. She got a new do, shook the specs, hiked up her hemline, and put on some tights. Who knew it could be that simple, huh Behnaz!?

As I said, Behnaz is a great designer. Her collections are always wearable, feminine, and simple. Each piece is perfect for going out with no accessories or makeup… hmmm sounds like Behnaz herself. The Fall 2008 collection is no different. All but 3 of the 32 looks featured dresses and I’d take them most of them. Style.com called the show “disparate”, saying Sarafpour may have “tried on too many different hats”. I say who cares. I mean she could have sent the models down the runway in Paper Mache short sets for all I care. All I noticed was the well overdue “rags-to-riches” makeover and I say Bravo!

Jovovich-Hawk for Target’s Go International. Not a Disappointment.

Of course, they planned it this way, but pics of the Jovovich-Hawk Go International line came out yesterday, just as I was having fuzzy feelings for their Fall 08 collection. I’ve gotta say, even though I was fervently opposed to Erin Fetherson’s Target line (and majorly disappointed by all the others), this one I like.

I’ve been fooled before by these collection previews but, holy Mila, this time I hope it’s for real.

I’m especially dazzled by this little number:

I was telling Manuel Paul that I would chop this skirt, since I can’t do that length. It’s soooo hard to find an A-line chambray skirt. UPDATE: They’re pants! WAH! Not a skirt.  I’m depressed.

I don’t know, call me crazy, but I like it. It’s a little bit Virgin Suicides, a little bit Little House on the Prairie. And its pretty daring…for Target.
