When I wrote about Urban Outfitters’ designer collaborations last week, it didn’t really occur to me what a good match UO and Geren Ford are, but check out this sneak peek of the collection.
Geren Ford’s designs are pretty subtle–the silhouettes always speak for themselves and so do the details. These easy dresses, jumpers and tops are no exception; this is one of the few designer collections that doesn’t look like an afterthought. They look like stepped-up Urban Outfitter’s fare.
Pretty cute and pretty perfect for summer. The best thing is that the clothes are moderately priced from around $48 to $128. Not too bad, especially if the quality doesn’t suck. But that’s hard to tell from pictures.
WWD really took advantage of Coachella–they must have interviewed every performer!
The latest quotes come from Threadtrend fave M.I.A., who quipped about how Marc Jacobs didn’t even know who she was before she made it into his ads: “”The whole time I was doing that campaign I was like, ‘Does Marc Jacobs know who I am?’….He didn’t let me into his parties and stuff six months before.”
She also admitted that she doesn’t wear his clothes while on tour because “They’re too nice.” Instead, she says, she’s been sporting her digs from her own self-titled line, which includes bomber jackets and leggings in bright colors and bold graphics: “With my stuff, because everything’s really bright, if you lose it or someone steals it, you can see it from miles away and you can be like, ‘Oy! Give me my shirt back!”
Wah, these pictures make me wish I’d gone to Coachella.
