Louis Vuitton really hearts Hip Hop! On the heels of Pharell’s Blason jewelry collection for LV earlier this year, comes news that Kanye West is collaborating with the company on a shoe line. Kanye made the announcement in Paris on Friday, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of him this week, front row at all the couture shows.

Richard Chai once stood me up for an interview I scheduled with him for some Korean magazine. I had to write the entire article based on internet sources and what his “people” would tell me, and it sucked! However, I will forgive him based on this Go International Line.
As always with these capsule collections, it will be interesting to see it up close, but these pictures are promising.
It’ll be available in August, and the also-promising in-house summer collection at Target comes out this Sunday.

To match its mysterious, non-conformist image, Boudicca is set to release a new fragrance called Wode. Since most of Boudicca’s collections seem to be about de-constructing traditional forms, it makes sense that Zowie Broach and Brian Kirkby would release a blue fragrance.
To make thing more interesting, it comes in a spray paint can, so you can feel like a back-alley wall during each application. Just make sure you’re not wearing white like that unfortunate girl in the promo pic.

Check out these chunky wayfarer-inspired “Status” sunglasses from Grey Ant. At $253, they’re expensive, but still…tempting.

Threadtrend was invited to attend the Fred Perry / Fader Magazine Subculture party, which brings together the music of the UK and the US at the Echo in Los Angeles. It featured performances by Jeremy Jay and the hot hot buzz band These New Puritans.
There was plenty of free Bass Ale on hand to keep you as cool as possible (which, considering the sweltering heat, not that cool). These New Puritans delivered on the rave reviews and had everyone in the crowd dancing and thrashing to their music. Chain Mail shirts should be the look of the summer. Enjoy some tunes below…..

A while back we celebrated the news that Vanessa Paradis would be starring in the new Miu Miu ads. She replaced Kirsten Dunst, who was in last season’s harlequin-inspired ads for Prada’s little sister.
So, here’s the new ad. She looks really gorgeous as usual, and I’m glad Miu Miu is sticking with jewel tones this fall.

Since getting pregnant seems to be the current trend at the moment, from young hollywood getting knocked up to high school girls making pregnancy pacts, it only makes sense that while pregnant you would want to look just as stylish as when you werent courting around all the extra pounds.
Say goodbye to the tacky elastic waistbanded jeans and hello to Moody Mamas, an LA upstart making it okay to come out of the house while preggers. The line started by Marta Abrams and Elise Rosemarin was partly inspired by the beautiful pregnant godess named Shiva and because “Women still want to feel sexy and flirty even though they are pregnant or nursing”

Frida Giannini enlisted buzz-band-of-the-moment MGMT’s “Time to Pretend,” which helped dictate the shape and sound of Gucci’s Spring 2009 men’s collection. The line was an attempt to appeal to a more youthful demographic, whose style leans more towards luxury but with a young flare.
The collection is peppered with pastels and comes across as anything but safe. “Time to Pretend” was used for the finale of the show and Frida dedicated the menswear show to the band.
