Here’s Naomi Campbell for Yves Saint Laurent‘s fall campaign. And in high-waisted sequin pants. Not bad. WWD is citing this ad and the upcoming Prada ads featuring Linda Evangelista as evidence of a 90s supermodel comeback.
It makes perfect sense to me that this is happening. Who isn’t nostalgic for models with names and shapes? The current Agyness Deyn mania is proof that we’re all longing for models with personality, a trait that’s been pretty vacant from the recent crops. Not that the Natalias, Jessicas and Lilys don’t do their jobs well–I just can’t picture any of them in a George Michael video.
