Rodarte’s Obama dress at Sonia Rykiel’s 40th Anniversary show
Sonia Rykiel celebrated 40 years in fashion at Paris Fashion Week. The first half of the show was filled with Rykiel’s own designs, which were marked by the color and whimsy that’s been missing from most runways this season. Here are some looks–the gowns, especially, threw caution to the wind:

And the good vibes didn’t stop there. The show eneed 30 other uproarious looks by designers (like the Rodarte design at the top), paying homage to Rykiel’s 40 years in the fashion biz:

Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci

Maison Martin Margiela

Jean Paul Gaultier

Comment by Rosetta James Monday, October 6, 2008 @ 01:12 kIt’s not possible. I think it was just a runway look to honor Rykiel. Plus, it’s Rodarte, so even if it was for sale, it’d be insanely expensive.
