The Brooklyn duo Matt and Kim have released a new video for the song “Lesson Learned” off the new album Grand. The video, which is directed by Taylor Cohen and Otto Arsenault, features the cute-as-a-button duo drumming up their sex appeal as they strip down in New York’s Time Square. All I have to say is I hope there is a director’s cut of the video released.
Matt and Kim recently finished a stint, opening up for Cut Copy this spring and have some more US shows this summer.
Check out the tour dates after the cut.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of helping out at the Love Birds photo shoot. This LA-based accessory line is a Threadtrend favorite, so I was really thrilled to help brand founder Loren Rochelle style the shoot. We were blessed with great clothes, magical light and gorgeous models. The new Love Birds site will be up soon, so you’ll get to see Loren’s vision come to life plus all her new pieces, which are nothing short of amazing . We’ll keep you posted.
Get your hands on what’s left of Loren’s current stock on her Etsy site.

A lot of times you hear the word buzz being thrown about to describe the next big thing, and most of the time it is not warranted. Well, in the case of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros , it certainly is. This 11-member band is led by Alex Ebert, formerly with IMA Robot. The band’s live shows have been garnering them quite a bit of attention, and they’ve already appeared on NPR and KCRW.
The band is in the middle of a residency at the newly-opened Regent Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. The band will release their digital EP “Up from Below” on May 19th and their debut album on July 14th. Check out a song below, but you must
check them out live.

I’m pretty excited about this Anna Sui for Target news. I’ve always loved Sui, and I think her intricate patters will translate well to a lower price point–you know they’ll still work even in the form of lower quality. I’m a little concerned that her inspiration for her upcoming Go International line will be inspired by Gossip Girl, but maybe I’m just being anti. I guess it’s less disconcerting than Alexander Wang doing khaki for Gap, right?
The line premieres September 13.

Dang, these A.P.C. Sparta Sandals are expensive, but I’m truly in love. Such a great alternative to the ubiquitous gladiator–it’s a heartbreaker, alright.

Looks like Alexander Wang has been tapped by the GAP for their latest collaboration. Refinery 29 says it’s going to be khaki based, which kind of scares me and much as it scares them, but I’m going to give him a well-deserved benefit of the doubt.
The fledgling mall staple is no stranger to designer partnerships–they’ve done those white shirt collaborations with Phillip Lim, Band of Outsiders, Threeasfour and others, if you remember. I hope this one actually produces something that I want to pay money for.
According to Gap Creative Director, Patrick Robinson, Wang created an “incredible motorcycle jacket.” But is that a khaki motorcycle jacket? I’m confused but not without hope.

Fans of Christian Siriano, of Project Runway fame, might be interested to see the wedding dresses he’s sketched up for Uma Thurman, Rachel Bilson, Amy Adams, and Zooey Deschanel (pictured above). I’m not usually into wedding gowns, per se, but Siriano’s designs are a lot more interesting that the usual fare.
About his Zooey creation, he says:
“I love the idea of using colors and tones to highlight something for Zooey. Her hair has such a luscious dark tone. I wanted the dress to highlight that with a cream color instead of classic white or even bone.”
I’m really into this trend of letting designers whip up their ideal dresses for celebrities, kind of like what designers did for Michelle Obama’s inaugural gown. Fun!

Revolutionary film maker David Lynch has directed an animated video for Moby’s latest single “Shot in the Back of the Head.” The animated clip is everything you would come to expect from Lynch–it’s dark and surreal and goes perfectly with the music. This may seem like an odd pairing, but the two have worked together in the past for Lynchtv and benefits. The song is taken from Moby’s forthcoming album Wait for Me.
